Four years ago I decided to enrol in a psychology degree course here in Dublin. In 2016, looking out towards 2020, it seemed like I was entering into something the finish line of which was too far ahead to contemplate.
Four years were going to pass either way, so why not make something worthwhile in the process.
That's it you see, this thing we call time will pass regardless, and we will get older, so best to occupy our time with something that engages us.
It's the same with work.
We're all going to leave this place. There's nobody getting out alive, therefore, we have no option if we are to be happy in our work or any place else.
We can't tell by the number in the bank, the car in the driveway, the woman or man or our arm. We won't know by the title on our business card or the number of clients on our books. It won't be clear from the sound of the applause or the number of pats on the back received.
There will be signs, but they'll surprise us rather than relenting to our prediction. They will be there in the ordinary.
So get into it.
Put the blinkers on and head down.
One day you'll look up, and all of a sudden, you're there.
By the way… you can join me on social media here…

I don’t have a website yet. I have been using this computer for about a year and a half.
My gathering skills will allow this soon.
My only platform is my Facebook page.
Red Sands Art. I have about 35 artists for friends from every corner of this earth. These are my siblings and my family now.
Thank You for being interested, LarryM.
I like reading your stuff, and you keep me brave.

Thanks, Larry
Three years ago, I decided I would do just what you suggested.
At the age of 72 and in pretty good shape, I made- the- leap with faith. I have always wanted to be a full-time artist in mind and practice.
It is a life long dream to find my place in this world.
I still have a year to find a situation that allows this wonderland.
The “stay at home” orders are fine with me.
I have come to find ecstasy in my painting again. I love it.
I can do this because the pandemic crisis has
put my worries about the wolf at the door on pause.
When all is back to normal, I must remember how I am doing this.
