Quit Your Job And Grow Tomatoes
Wish you had the courage to quit your job?
Is it satisfying, fulfilling, challenging in a positive way?
Is your job giving you everything you want for the time and energy that you give it?
If it is, then great, keep doing it.
If not, then don't worry, sure keep doing it. Keep pushing forward for that raise, or promotion and who knows, maybe it will get better.
Maybe if you just decide to be happy where you are, resenting what you do for a living you will eventually be happier doing it.
Maybe if you put your discomfort to the back of your mind and hang your happiness on that two week holiday you have coming up life will improve for you.
Feck it, stick to the routine of getting up at 6am half dead, dragging the kids out of their sleep, shoving breakfast down their throats and tearing out the door like you're demonically possessed.
Keep working long hours and driving home in traffic with everyone else. Look forward to Friday, at least you have that.
Or maybe you need to quit your job and grow tomatoes instead.
The Momentum Of Habit
There is a great momentum in our society towards the status quo.
Get an education, get a job, get into debt, work your ass off and give the best years of your life to some job that pays the bills.
Man, it's such a bullshit idea.
We should all just quit our jobs tomorrow and go do other shit we love instead, y'know.
I folded a business a couple years back and took the time to do whatever I wanted, and even though money was tighter than tight I really enjoyed the time.
I did whatever I wanted.
Then 6 months ago I rejoined the workforce for money. Here I go again I thought, selling my soul for money.
However, I decided to make it ok.
But time is running out now. My patients with the insanity of the circumstances in which I work are wearing thin.
And you know the world feels this way, but we are compelled to keep doing it.
It's crazy I tells ya.
Time To Quit Your Job
This is as much a message for me as it is for you; maybe it's time your quit your job and do something else.
If it's not tomatoes your growing then grow something wothwhile.
Like a coffee shop, or paintings, or music, baking bread or some other thing that makes you happy.
Don't worry about money, you'll find a way to sell what you do and make enough to get by. And after a while, you may do better than just getting by.
People may like your stuff so much that they flock to you.
And even if they don't flock to you then so what? At least you'll be happy doing what you're doing.
Now hold on!
That voice in your head is going to pop up and tell you not to be so stupid.
You've got to silence that motherfucker, it will destroy your chances of finally doing what you want.
The only thing you've got to get straight in your head is that life happens now, there is only now, and therefore every moment you spend doing what you love turns into a life loved.
Remember that.
Now go quit your job and do whatever you want instead.

Another status quo challenging head bending article, Larry. We’re like the little bird who gets thrown from the top of the tree/ cliff by its mother (!!) who doesn’t have much time to think – “can I fly/ will I die?” They just have to fly.
