Welcome to the resources page. Here you'll find links to resources and tools that I currently use or have used in the past to build my site and the parts that comprise it. You'll find links and resources for writing, SEO, email marketing, website hosting and more. For the sake of transparency, you should know that some of these links are affiliate links. That means that if you buy these products, I may receive a small commission. You won't pay any more than you would otherwise, and in fact, you may pay less, but you will help me fund my writing. Read the affiliate disclosure to find out more.
Writing Resources
ProWriting Aid
I use ProWritingAid spelling, grammar and style editor tool to improve my writing. With this link you get 20% off.
Grammarly
I was a Grammarly user for several years and found it an excellent tool, but it's a bit pricey compared to ProWriting Aid.
PressBooks
I have created several books using Pressbooks. It's a WordPress based tool and outputs ebooks in PDF, ePub and other formats.
Designrr
Designrr is a tool that converts web content links into ebooks with ease. I hold a subscription and for its cost, I think it's worth investment.
WordPress & Web Hosting
WordPress.com
WordPress (.com) is the go-to place for beginner writers wishing to build an online platform. It's where I started ten years ago.
WordPress.org
WordPress (.org) is self-hosted WordPress. It has greater flexibility and customisation options. It's the platform upon which I built this site.
WP Engine
If you are building a self-hosted site on WordPress, then WP Engine is hands-down the best hosting provider you could choose.
Bluehost
For a more affordable WordPress hosting solution, Bluehost is a good choice. If you're just starting out online, consider Bluehost.
Studiopress
I use Studiopress themes for all my sites. Studiopress is part of the WP Engine family and provides a seamless package.
Email Marketing
MailChimp
I've been using MailChimp as my email marketing provider since 2009. I've tried others, but I always come back to MailChimp.
MailChimp WooCommerce
MailChimp for WooCommerce allows you sync your WooCommerce store users with your MailChimp list – deadly!
Sumo
I've been using Sumo for years now to help me build my email list. I have tried many lead-gen tools and this one is my go-to.
