I write essays and shorter pieces examining the human condition and our relationship with life and work in a rapidly changing society. Through the lens of psychology and philosophy, and occasionally anthropology, economics, and politics, I attempt to find answers. Technology, artificial intelligence in particular, is changing everything. At least, that's what the hype suggests. Jobs will be lost, lives will be changed, and there will be (is) a knock-on effect for the environment. Life and work are changing dramatically, and I wonder how human beings will cope and survive. Then there is the view that all human beings are insane–what to do about that? It's what I write about.
